Things to do before I turn 30!

"Which road should I take?" (Alice)
"Where do you want to go?" (Cat)
"I don't know." Alice answered.
"Then," said the Car, "It doesn't matter. If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."
Alice in Wonderland

The picture is from Hallmark's Hoops and Yoyo! I LOVE THEM!

One of my favorite blogs does a list every year of what they want to do before her next birthday. This is where I got the idea from.

1) Pay off one of my credit cards
2) Run a 5K
3) Do 30 Day for 30 days straight
4) Go to Florida and do a College Program ten year reunion
5) Learn how to sew
6) Learn how to knit or decorate a cake with fondent
7) Finish stitching my apron
8) Organize all Recipes, put them on cards
9) Hang pictures through out the house
10) Organize the Pantry

These are my goal to finish within the 4 months. Let's see if I can do it, I think that I can do most of them. The hardest will be the 5K, the only that I am looking forward to the most is hanging all the pictures. I don't count going to Florida because of course that is what I am looking forward to the most. ;)

Once Christmas is over I am going to look into making all the idea's that I have running through my head. Really the first step is that I need to learn how to sew, then I will be off. I already have a bunch of ideas. I can't wait for you to see everything!

Man, does time ever fly

So in my last post I promised to update more and have all these great things happen this year. That of course did not happen, though great things did happen to me just not on my blog. :)

I am now getting use to being a homeowner, which is a never ending job. I am really close to a huge goal that I have been working on for a couple of years now. And this month, which is always crazy busy actually gave me time to sit back and rethink what my goals are in life. In this up coming year I am really going to stick with this because I am hooked, really hooked on reading other people's blogs. I always write them because I have questions that they might have an answer to. I am also hooked on Etsy like there is no tomorrow, I mean hours just looking at everything and always being amazed.

I have decided three very important things for this up coming year....

1) Instead of doing New Year's Resolutions that never seem to stick I am going to do 30 day tasks for everything that I want to do. I got the idea from a study saying that it only takes 16 days to form a habit, and Jillian Michael's 30 day shred.

2) I have made a list of things that I want to do before my 30th birthday which is about 4 months away.

3) Go back to school in the fall to either be a teacher or teacher's aide. I don't know which one yet. Both seem good due to holidays and summers off.

On my 30 Day List is:

1. Yoga
2. Floss daily
3. Wear Make-up daily
4. Fix my hair, not into a ponytail everyday
5. Do 30-day shred straight through!
6. Run (I want to run a 5k or more in 2010)
7. Work on the gardens around the house i.e. learn how to garden and not kill everything
8. Finish playing a game on the XBOX 360 and get all 1,000 points for it
9. In 30 days clean the house from top to bottom, and make a daily/weekly/monthly cleaning plan
10. Decorate and fix the backyard deck
11. Organize the kitchen, pantry, and garage
12. Finally scrap book all my pictures into all my photo albums

I will probably add more to the list because some I can of course do at the same time.

Tomorrow will be my before 30 birthday list, but for now it's time for bed then off to work in the morning.

Welcome 2009

Sorry I have been away so long. Summer time for me is a super busy time of year, so everything kind of falls to the side except working, eating, and sleeping. After summer September kicked my butt with a new boyfriend entering the picture and a couple of hurricanes to keep us busy at work. October was go and visit Florida every other week. First trip was to see one of my best friends and my boy. The next one was to see my parents and all my friends at Disney. It was a fun and busy month let me tell you! November was live on the edge of what is going to be the next step in life not knowing where my boyfriend was going to be stationed it was just a waiting game, but he got stationed here so everything worked out. He moved in with me at the end of the month and in December we went to meet his family! I passed!!! December flew by with me winning an award at my job and the holidays being busy. January was all about what are my goals for the up coming year. We are looking into buying a house soon, I got a second job, and worked a lot the last week at my other job.

Now even with two jobs I still have tons of time on my hands and I thought that I would get back to this, just cause it gives me something else to do in life besides clean and watch tv.

Lucky Kitty Shirt!

Today I finished my first ever clothing project, I have done a couple of pillow cases and tea towels but this was my test. Tomorrow I am starting presents for my cousins, all clothing too! I am so happy how this turned out. The t-shirt stablier from Sublime Stitching. Yes, I know that I talk about them a lot but I love them! I almost am waiting for my other stitching to come in from .... subversive cross stitch. The newest one they have is Get the F* out of my kitchen B*. How can you not love that.

Magnet Dreams

My bubble magnets, again this project is very addicting! I still have about twenty old magazines to go through before I figure out what to do next. I also am using Mod Podge glue (matte-mat) and ribbions magnets instead of what they tell you in the instructions. (See earlier blogs) Both are working great and last a very long time, this is a great project for kids during these long summer months.

Arts and Crafts Day!

So I magically got today off from work and spent the morning shopping for supplies and the rest of the day catching up on some t.v. shows that I am so very much behind on. If you haven't been out and about lately you should get to JCPenny's and Old Navy, they are having crazy sales! So exciting! I will post next the shirt I am working on from Old Navy with the help of Sublime Stitching sushi patterns it will rock! As you can see I just finished this project, a pillow case for my dad. He is really into the tropical theme of life. For Mother's Day I made one for my mom with a beauty sleep theme. If you haven't checked out Sublime Stitching you have to! The link is on the side bar, warning though once you start you will be hooked. For the rest of the month I am going to do three shirts, a tea towel, three oneis, and a bandanna for my cousins and there kids. I will keep you updated on the works!

So hula seventy it's going to be able to sent out postcards to everyone, which makes sense due to when I signed up it was already over 300 responses. Still I am hopefully that I will get onto any list and get to try my hand at it. On the craftypod (link on the side) they have a link to embroidering your own greeting card, this might be my post card, still thinking about it.

This link is on a site that I found yesterday, that is right it is meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting! This is so exciting, being that I LOVE cupcakes and can't stop buy books about them, now they can be dinner too! I already have recipes for breakfast cupcakes! Does anyone know a really good recipe for pineapple muffins/cupcakes?

At the moment I am just waiting for 10pm so I can work MVP, I don't know if I am going to like it but it is all about hockey and I oh so love that sport. I will let you know.

Rooftop Garden

So today flew by due to the fact that I thought I worked in the afternoon but I was on the morning shift, it was a crazy run around the house once that phone call came. I didn't get to really do anything but work and eat dinner today so I thought I would let you know about the books I read this weekend.

The Perfect Match by Kimberly Cates; All or Nothing by Claire Cross; Married By Mistake by Abby Gaines (who also writes Nascar novels which rock!) and Real Vampires Have Curves by Gerry Barlett. All of them were really good, but now I am starting Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. The third one comes out this month in the series. I love her Size 12 series so much, I brought it for many of my friends. I am so excited for this one!

I hope that you all like the picture of the roof garden, it is from Norway in Epcot. I love Epcot so much, and could/have spent many nights there. It is so peaceful, and you can get wasted, ride rides, eat wonderful food from all over, listen to amazing bands, and the best part is it is only a mile and a half to do everything! Plus halfway through they have a great dark quite show which is perfect for a nap!
