Lucky Kitty Shirt!

Today I finished my first ever clothing project, I have done a couple of pillow cases and tea towels but this was my test. Tomorrow I am starting presents for my cousins, all clothing too! I am so happy how this turned out. The t-shirt stablier from Sublime Stitching. Yes, I know that I talk about them a lot but I love them! I almost am waiting for my other stitching to come in from .... subversive cross stitch. The newest one they have is Get the F* out of my kitchen B*. How can you not love that.

Magnet Dreams

My bubble magnets, again this project is very addicting! I still have about twenty old magazines to go through before I figure out what to do next. I also am using Mod Podge glue (matte-mat) and ribbions magnets instead of what they tell you in the instructions. (See earlier blogs) Both are working great and last a very long time, this is a great project for kids during these long summer months.

Arts and Crafts Day!

So I magically got today off from work and spent the morning shopping for supplies and the rest of the day catching up on some t.v. shows that I am so very much behind on. If you haven't been out and about lately you should get to JCPenny's and Old Navy, they are having crazy sales! So exciting! I will post next the shirt I am working on from Old Navy with the help of Sublime Stitching sushi patterns it will rock! As you can see I just finished this project, a pillow case for my dad. He is really into the tropical theme of life. For Mother's Day I made one for my mom with a beauty sleep theme. If you haven't checked out Sublime Stitching you have to! The link is on the side bar, warning though once you start you will be hooked. For the rest of the month I am going to do three shirts, a tea towel, three oneis, and a bandanna for my cousins and there kids. I will keep you updated on the works!

So hula seventy it's going to be able to sent out postcards to everyone, which makes sense due to when I signed up it was already over 300 responses. Still I am hopefully that I will get onto any list and get to try my hand at it. On the craftypod (link on the side) they have a link to embroidering your own greeting card, this might be my post card, still thinking about it.

This link is on a site that I found yesterday, that is right it is meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting! This is so exciting, being that I LOVE cupcakes and can't stop buy books about them, now they can be dinner too! I already have recipes for breakfast cupcakes! Does anyone know a really good recipe for pineapple muffins/cupcakes?

At the moment I am just waiting for 10pm so I can work MVP, I don't know if I am going to like it but it is all about hockey and I oh so love that sport. I will let you know.

Rooftop Garden

So today flew by due to the fact that I thought I worked in the afternoon but I was on the morning shift, it was a crazy run around the house once that phone call came. I didn't get to really do anything but work and eat dinner today so I thought I would let you know about the books I read this weekend.

The Perfect Match by Kimberly Cates; All or Nothing by Claire Cross; Married By Mistake by Abby Gaines (who also writes Nascar novels which rock!) and Real Vampires Have Curves by Gerry Barlett. All of them were really good, but now I am starting Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. The third one comes out this month in the series. I love her Size 12 series so much, I brought it for many of my friends. I am so excited for this one!

I hope that you all like the picture of the roof garden, it is from Norway in Epcot. I love Epcot so much, and could/have spent many nights there. It is so peaceful, and you can get wasted, ride rides, eat wonderful food from all over, listen to amazing bands, and the best part is it is only a mile and a half to do everything! Plus halfway through they have a great dark quite show which is perfect for a nap!

Hello Again!

So I know that it has been a long time since I wrote, sorry about that. Just been working and finding myself along with huge family issues that are all good now. I am still in Texas, for at least the next three months it is looking like, I don't mind though. While I was 'away' I found tons of sites from wonderful people who live in Austin! I can't wait to have a free couple of days off to drive up there and see. They have a cafe that serves Carrot Cake french toast!! That just screams my name!! I have also been working on lots of craft projects, which I will be posting pictures of this week.

Today I made marble picture magnets! http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/how-make/7943-anyone-know-how-make-marble-pendants-2.html

I have a bunch of birthdays coming up this month and wanted to send fun things to people. I am also working on a couple of different projects with the help of Sublime Stitching (link on the side). Along with signing up for a postcard swap! So excited about that project. My next goal is to learn how to make Scrabble tile pictures/necklaces. We will see how that one goes, if not I am going to buy a sewing machine and start on my softies.

On my exploring of the internet I also came across a blog about how a person will only read so many books in their life time. I think that I have read more than the number, I will find the site and figure out. Why I am talking about this is because I am going to go back and start reviewing books again. It is on my New Year's list, which I have to cross out a couple things. This includes meeting a new person, totally did that and had a great friend for two months. Even though it was extremely short time period, I wouldn't trade it for anything. The yoga thing I am still working on, but with summer here that means I have to start my work out schedule so I can get through the 12 hour days. At the moment Whole Grain Cherrios and a glass of o.j. get me through everything. I am off to get some much needed sleep!

P.S. I am now in back in my jeans! I just have to work on yoga and muscle strength!

Goals for the New Year and a happy book!

So I broke down and got a book yesterday... not the book I was planning on buying (the new Stephanie Plum), but another book. I am so happy that I got this one, it's called Skinny Dipping... so GOOD!! I am almost done with it, but I am going to wait and finish it tomorrow because I have nothing to do and I have to get up for work in seven hours. Yuck! Today at work I sat down and started writing out my new year's list. It doesn't make that much sense but at the time my brain was fried thinking about different games to play for spring break and Easter. I have decided though to go and buy two journals, one for my thoughts and one to be an art journal. I am hooked on the craftypod and Ihanna websites, and they have given me a place to start. The journal I have now was started on Sept. 12, 2001 and only has different quotes that I have found and liked over the years. I don't really have a place to write down my thoughts and keep it forever. I have decided that I need one. Tonight while talking on the phone I have realized that I am at a HUGE cross roads in my life and I have to take a very big and scary step off that unseen cliff into the unknown. I will be scared, sad, very alone, cry a lot, and it will break my heart, but I can't do what I am doing to someone. It is just plain mean and cruel and I will never be forgiven, that it why I have waited oh so too long to do what I need to do. I have to live my life, but oh so more than that I have to let them have theirs, I have stopped happiness from happening to someone I care so much about. I guess it just chalks one more mark on my score board of being closer to hell.

new year, new ???

So it's a new year... what I am going to do this year? As one of my favorite songs says; 'My mind's not perfect but it's sincere. You'd be amazed what you can achieve in a year. This got me thinking... my year is completely different that most people's. My year starts in May, that is when my contract runs out where I work. What will I have achieved in this year of leaving everyone behind.. did I find myself? did I take the steps I wanted to in my career? have a done all my goals that I set for me? let alone what are my goals? That is what I am going to do this week, along with writing new year's cards, good bye cards, miss you cards, and working on a project for my cousin's new baby. I know that a couple of my goals need to me like where i am going once May comes around, what I need to do to fit into my fav. pair of pants again, and how to budget well everything. I have been listening to Hip Tranquil Chick podcast and re-reading Kimberly Wilson's book with the same title. Also I have been listening to lots of the view, lilly allen, kate nash, feist, and lastly the legally blonde the broadway musical soundtrack. Very odd mix I know... but I just moved a bed (finally! sleeping on a air mattress for 8 months is odd, but last night I couldn't sleep because the bed is too high) and a giant entertainment center into my life. While cleaning the apt. for people to come into it, I started thinking that I might as well start packing again too. I still have about 7 boxes still packed, so we will work from there. Hope today finds you all well! Oh! You need to read Susan Mallery's Saving Gracie! I just got it today and read it... now just waiting for tomorrow to buy the new Stephanie Plum book!
