Halloween Night!

Click on the link and it is a picture of our candy of death foyer!

Happy Halloween!

Having an amazing morning! Laid up in bed for hours this morning under happy warm covers listening to J snore, which always makes me smile. We got up and deep cleaned the downstairs, then had some Trader Joes Pumpkin waffles and grapes for breakfast. After breakfast I made candy corn bark again, or as I have come to call it candy corn crack! http://www.mybakingaddiction.com/boo-halloween-treat-and-giveaway/

We went out to Walmart last night on an Oreo run for J really wanted to have some more candy corn bark. You will be hooked, this is your warning! Also use the white chocolate from Wilson's that you get at Michael's it is so much easier. We were looking for orange oreo's but no luck instead we found CANDY CANE ones! Yes so we are trying those out in the bark today.

The plan for the rest of the day is bumming until we get hungry then off to the Alamo Cafe http://www.alamocafe.com/ , Bed, Bath, and Beyond for a new dish rack, and if I can talk him into it we will hit up Brindles http://www.yelp.com/biz/brindles-awesome-ice-creams-san-antonio-2 They are a hidden treasure here in San Antonio.

What I got from Etsy!

This past week I have been crazy shopping on Etsy. The picture above comes from http://www.etsy.com/shop/JessicasGifts?ref=pr_shop_more I got one for myself and one for my amazing friend Karen who also run this half marathon with me. It was the first one for each of us, and we are now HOOKED! I have to say that after it was over I had never felt so proud of myself for anything that I had done in my life as I did at that moment. My body hated me SO much, and I was telling everyone don't ever let me do that again. Looking back I think that if I had trained better, ie: didn't stop training about two months out then it would have gone so much better! Okay back to the subject at hand, shopping.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/SeptemberHouse?ref=pr_shop_more For some reason all the rest of the pictures are going CRAZY big, so you will just have to click on the links. From SeptemberHouse I got a calendar that you can personalize any way you would like. It is 100% amazing, I am going to use a different color for every month, shapes for important days, and then try and do different sayings or quotes all around the top. I am going to hang it in my office (*giggle* I have an office!)
http://www.etsy.com/shop/spooklufibo I really got something for everyone in my family. This little cat mat has had my cats going nuts from the moment I walked through the door with the package. They fight over it all day and night, but they are getting better at taking turns on it. Now that cold weather is finally starting to reach south Texas (47 out when I woke up this morning) they are going to be all up for blankets :)

http://www.etsy.com/shop/Digitalsoaps When you click here you are going to be like what the what?!? If you know me at all you know that we are a nerd family and totally proud of it! We have a halloween tree up year round with Star Trek ornaments on it, really. I am slowly making the second full bathroom into a video game bathroom and when I saw these I knew I had to have one! We just got it yesterday in the mail, and when J. opened it he was very confused but once explained love it!

I have to warn you though, once you start looking you can easily lose hours of your life without even knowing. IT WILL SUCK YOU IN!! Just run with it, that is all I have to say.

Good Morning!

I found this picture today while on one of my favorite blogs: hula seventy! She has the most amazing pictures and I love picture booth fridays. Hope all is going great for you this morning, I was way too tired last night to post. This morning though I am moving; my cup of tea is almost gone, dinner is in the slow cooker, and breakfast/lunch are packed. I am very excited for dinner, I made pot roast with cream dill sauce, veggies, and it will all be over egg noodles. Oh yeah! The thing I love about slow cookers is that this meal will last us about 3 days, the last one though hit 4 days! I have a meal planner pad ( I will put a picture up later) and it is my life saver. I just plan out all the meals for the week or even two go to the store and get everything (I wait on fresh veggies until the day of) and we are good for a while.

I am sad to say that I did not make it to my Zumba class last night :( but I am going to try again tonight. It runs at 6pm Mon-Thr. so I figured I am going to have to hit it at least one night! If not that I have Friday off and they have an 8am class. Speaking of Friday, I have a 4pm session with my trainer Matt. Now a little background, I have been going to Gold's Gym since Febuary in that time I am on my third trainer because they keep leaving! My first two were a girl and now I have a guy, they are all great but I really like girls over guys. I am one of those people who likes to talk a lot while I workout, and it is so much easier to talk with a girl then a guy. Plus he calls like 24/7 about when are you going to book next. Listen guy I work easy 50-60 hours a week and when I am free you are in school and I am a morning workout person not a night time one. I only have 3 sessions left so I am just going to get them over with and see what will happen from there. I really don't want to work out at 4pm because it will be over at 5pm ... on a Friday... traffic will be so BAD!! It is only a 15 min drive away but it will take me about 45 mins to get home that night... grrrr...

Hello my name is Ali and I am hooked on Etsy

This is one of the many items that I have gotten over the past couple of weeks from Etsy. No lie, I don't know how to stop the line and it is really bugging me. Moving on, I love everything that I have gotten so far! I just ordered 5 more things this weekend. It's turning into my downfall fast, but they have so much fun stuff. This weekend I got two things for me, one for Jarid, one for the kitty's, and something for my friend Karen. I can't wait to post up pictures of everything but I have to wait. Karen's is a surprise!! This winter though you will see me in a Penn State hat, a headband with a blue and a white flower on it, and a pink flower ring. All these products have come from Etsy. If you haven't checked it out, I would set aside a good couple of hours to explore the site. I am very excited for the Saturday after Thanksgiving because we are having a craft fair and a bunch of people from etsy are going to be there!

These are all my beauty products that I am in love with at the moment! I really can't live without my Bare Minerals SPF 30, it is SO easy / simple to apply. I am down to a 5 minute face including eyeliner, lip liner, blush, etc. I am trying to figure out about my lips, I don't know if I am loving my gloss. I am more of a lipstick kind of girl. Now that I have my new haircut with my bangs the John Frieda weather works is a life saver. Living in San Antonio Texas it is hot and humid a good amount of the time, working outside most of the day doesn't really help the hair situation either. In the middle is once again my new nail polish that I found thanks to the pioneer woman, it's called Merino Cool. It's the perfect mix of heather grey/purple I want to find at least one shirt in this color for the upcoming fall/winter season.

Baking is in the AIR!!

I woke up this morning and my cough was back on the attack so that put a lot of my plans on hold for the day i.e: the dentist and the gym. I did get everything else done and more so in the end it is all working out.

When I was eating breakfast this morning (Bob's Mill Rolled Oats, flax seeds, raisins, pecans, and cinnamon) it started to pour! I was in heaven, even thinking about taking a nap then I decided to come upstairs and see what my bookmarks held for me :) I hit the food fun one and came across so much that I had forgotten I wanted to try. Here is the plan:

Dinner:
Slow cooker pot roast with carrots, celery, potatoes, and cream of mushroom soup all on top of pearled barley. I know that is a lot of carbs, but my potatoes were dying I had to use them :)

Island pork tenderloin salad, this is from the P90X cook book and is amazing!

Dilled pot roast with a light gravy, over either pearled barley again or egg noodles, we have both so it will just be up to what we feel like.

Pork Chops, they were on sale only $2 you can't pass that up! They will be with either rice/quoinoa or baked beans.

This will last us for about the next week and a half worth of meals, now that I am home for dinner every night we need a BIG plan. We have been sucking and eating out like 3 times a week for dinner because I just don't want to think about what to make for dinner once I get home.

Now the fun part! Dessert!!

Today I already made Candy Corn Bark, which I got from (Pampered with Paige) http://www.typepad.com/services/trackback/6a00e5520c1f5b88330134878e4d87970c who got it from
http://www.recipegirl.com/2008/10/23/candy-corn-cookie-bark/ Recipegirl!

Next it is up for great debate, should I do...

Pumpkin cookies with butterscotch chips (above from joy the baker) or Pumpkin Oatmeal cookies with Cherries and White Chocolate chips. It's just too hard!! Don't worry though I bought everything!

Dinner just beeped, off I go. Oh! Went and saw RED today it was really cute, and has a high chance of going on the must buy list. First up though it KINECT! I can't wait to play the dancing game and sing along downstairs.

Winding Down

I am finally starting to winding down from this week of being on a crazy happy high, which I feel is never a bad thing to be on. It's 11pm on my Friday night with tons of fun/easy things to do tomorrow and hopefully a movie date night :) Oh yeah! Now the questions for the week are do we try and hit up Enchanted Rock when it is going to be full of people for a contest rock climbing.... or do we go to Lost Maples State Park instead and enjoy the trees? Second question is what the heck should be eat for dinner this week? I am thinking pot roast (we have tons of potatoes left), grilled chicken with grilled veggies, and maybe either a pasta dish or chicken and pineapple quesadillas.

I am proud to say that I jumped out of bed this morning and hit the mat hard! I totally broke a sweat doing my morning yoga! I am so happy, also I did 4. 8 miles at work today which is another great thing! I am falling asleep sitting up so off to bed I go.

P.S. I am really in the mood to do a 5K, anyone else?

Day 2 of bouncing off the wall

Good Evening!!

I am still bouncing off the wall from yesterday, I hope that this last for a couple more days. Tomorrow is my Friday and I would love to be like this on real Friday so I can kick butt at the gym!! My goal this week is to try and take a class I have never been to, I am really wanting to try Zumba but I don't know.

At work today we built GIANT cardboard boats, they were awesome but set up and clean up sucked ass. Best words for that trust me, I have a couple of Band-Aids and scratches from cardboard and trees. That's all with work, I don't really want to talk about it.

I am so proud of myself today, I woke up did yoga, my hair, makeup, and danced! I am hoping to do it again tomorrow, though I need to work on my eating for it was bad today due to not enough time or chocolate stress as I call it. What ever you want to call it, I did not jump 100% back on the wagon in one day. It's going to take a couple and I already know that.

Off to play around some more before I finally crash for the night! Hope everyone is having a great day!

P.S. I made a little girls' day today thanks to this video.

Crazy few months

Hello Friends,

I doubt that anyone even looks here anymore and I am not going to be posting this up on my facebook anymore either. It's been a super crazy time these past few months.

- Summer picked up and got crazy at work right as everyone was leaving to go back to school
-My boss quit the day before Labor Day Weekend which was a super busy weekend when it is normally very quite.
- I am now the boss but with no help and tons of new projects/task given to me.
- Jarid is back in school and our eating schedule is out the window due to that and my 12 hour days.

Some GREAT news though:

- WE ran a half marathon earlier this month! We did the Disney's Wine and Dine 13.1 miles!! It was nuts due to many different factors but I think that the worst was that it started at 10pm!! That's right at night people! We were throw off schedule for 2 whole days and it took longer than that to fully recover. I cried when I was done, I have never been so proud of myself as I was in that moment. My time was no were close to great, but I finished and that is all the matters. My friend Karen was 4 mins ahead of me, while Jarid was an hour. Around half mile into it he grab me in a sideways hug and kissed the top of my head then took off. Suzie was waiting for all of us at the finish line. I am trying to make it was I can be waiting for her at the end of her first half in January!

- Today I woke up weighting the most I have ever weighted, and I wasn't even the least bit sad about it. Instead I went shopping and found an amazing pair of jeans, a cute sweater, and the best sweatshirt/jacket ever!! I will post pictures when I finally get to wear it... fall where are you?!? I know that I should be a little worried, but it that time for me and I am on med's for a stupid cough that make you gain weight. Now I know that you think I am just saying this but I really don't think that I gained 3 lbs over night and then the next night added 2lbs to that. And no people, I have not been baking so don't go there with my cookies! :)

I have my diet and fitness journal out and ready to start tomorrow, I packed an awesome breakfast of oatmeal (raisins, flax seed, and pecans) cat cookies for people as snack, and lastly a healthy choice microwave meal. I am going to write in my journal when I am done here and start a new day tomorrow! Today as been one of the first that I have been able to breath and relax in a very long time, I went shopping, cleaned the house, and did Ali spa/girly time while singing and dancing around the house. So though most people would have been sad on this day of hitting one of the highest weight days ever, I went out and had a blast.

How have you been?
